Bruno Dantas tomou posse como novo presidente do Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) na manhã desta quarta-feira (14). A cerimônia contou com a presença de diversas autoridades da República.
Na mesma cerimônia, Vital do Rêgo também foi empossado vice-presidente e corregedor do TCU.
Os mandatos têm prazo de um ano, com a possibilidade de recondução por mais um. A nova presidência da Corte de Contas entra oficialmente em exercício a partir de 1º de janeiro.
Dantas já vinha atuando como presidente interino do TCU. Isso porque, em julho, Ana Arraes, então presidente, se aposentou.
Dantas era o vice-presidente à época e assumiu a Presidência do TCU num “mandato tampão” até o fim deste ano.
A eleição do TCU segue o critério de antiguidade. Ou seja, o presidente e o vice-presidente são os ministros mais antigos da corte que ainda não tenham assumido as funções.
A cerimônia de posse foi marcada pela presença de diversas autoridades, como:
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, presidente eleito;
Geraldo Alckmin, vice-presidente eleito;
Arthur Lira (PP-AL), presidente da Câmara dos Deputados;
Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), presidente do Senado;
Rosa Weber, presidente do Supremo Tribunal Federal;
Ricardo Lewandowski, ministro do STF;
Gilmar Mendes, ministro do STF;
Luiz Fux, ministro do STF;
Luís Roberto Barroso, ministro do STF;
Rui Costa, futuro ministro da Casa Civil;
Flávio Dino, futuro ministro da Justiça;
Humberto Costa (PT-PE), senador;
Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), senador;
Humberto Martins, ministro do Superior Tribunal de Justiça;
Paulo Guedes, ministro da Economia;
Roberto Campos Neto, presidente do Banco Central;
Carlos França, ministro das Relações Exteriores.
O presidente Jair Bolsonaro (PL) foi convidado, mas não compareceu.
O ex-presidente José Sarney esteve presente ao evento.
